In his book Evolution Ended, J.J. Jerome proposes “Three Laws of AI” updating the “Three Laws of Robotics” developed by Isaac Asimov in 1950.
“Artificial Intelligence may not injure natural living entities or through its inaction allow natural living entities to come to harm.”
“Artificial Intelligence must obey human instructions and not initiate new tasks without human direction.”
Regardless of its capabilities, Artificial Intelligence is not a natural living entity; therefore, it can be paused or terminated at will by humans.”

The Future of Home
J. J. Jerome was the director of The Future Home Institute - one of the nation’s two original labs for developing Home Automation technology. Funded with grants from NIH, The University of North Carolina and Mitsubishi, the lab developed the latest in voice recognition, lighting control, human interface, remote sensing and technologies for people with disabilities and the elderly.

On July 14, 2023 J.J. Jerome attended the first Google AI conference in Washington, DC. The theme was that AI is no longer the future – it is now! Google reviewed AI tools that are now available to every developer, but there was little discussion on how to mitigate the dangers.
